9mm Pistol Carbine Glock Magazine - Pistol-caliber carbines (PCCs) and personal defense weapons (PDWs) have gained momentum over the past 10 years, but the concept is hardly new. My favorite old Ruger is the .44 Magnum carbine. He looks like 10/22, who has grown up. But it's not the easiest gun to feed, and that's what we're talking about today - Glock magazine functionality.
The Glock mag is mostly associated with Glock pistols. There are other pistols, such as the Mossberg MC1, that also run on Glock magazines, but we're talking about PCCs and PDWs here. Glock magazines are so highly regarded that many rifles of this type are now built from the ground up to capitalize on Glock's success.

PCCs are rifles. These are carbines with calibers usually associated with pistols. For this discussion we are not talking about 7.62×39 or 5.56 or any of the smaller rifle cartridges that have gained popularity in handguns.

No one seems to agree on what PDW is. Is it a small gun that fires a small, large and powerful bullet? Some use the term PDW to refer to a weapon that is usually made to look like a rifle, but is made to be a pistol instead (because you can't call it a carbine if it's legally a pistol). The term PDW is used loosely and can include actual SBRs, compact pistols that fire rifle calibers, and even conversion kits that add functionality to a pistol by mounting it in a chassis or replacing its top.
This is a deeply philosophical discussion for those steeped in gun culture. Consider the premise. If you could only have one type of pistol caliber platform, what would it be? Would you make a decision based on the gun? Would you make a decision based on the magazine?
Currently, some of the most popular rifles in these categories have their own magazines. It's usually in a brand's best interest to sell you something that will keep you coming back. For this purpose, some weapons work using their own barrels. CZ Skorpion. Small SIGs.
Ask Ruger. They say no and stick to their guns, so to speak, but think how much the Mini-14 and Mini-30 would sell if those rifles ran AR or AK mags. Ruger also knows and has gone in a different direction with more recent launches (more on that later).

Who is the absolute best magazine in terms of reliability and functionality? Maybe it's a Glock, maybe it's not. But Glock magazines work even when abused.
Perhaps we should look at this from a different angle. What if we just want to make a pistol that uses one of the most common pistol grips? Glock's 9mm still wins.
Honestly, they don't have to be Glock magazines. The heart of this cookie is simply a rifle that has the same caliber and magazines as your gun.
Let's go back a little to the end of the 19th century. If you think munitions are hard to come by by now... The supply lines for those territories were thin. For many, the smokehouse was a practical choice because all that was needed was raw ammunition. However, tapes changed that. If you have a rifle and a pistol that fire the same bullet, you should only get one type of ammunition.

Those original pistol-caliber carbines, the old Henry and Winchesters, were a bit underpowered compared to the big-barreled, rolling-block rifles, but they worked. The Colt 1873 and the Winchester 1873 chambered for the same round were a solid pair.
PCC fans know PSA. They make great rifles and pistols. Like many other AR manufacturers, they changed the platform to include 9mm ARs that run on Glock mags. They are available in rifle and pistol configurations.
Pistol-caliber ARs offer a really solid option for anyone who regularly trains with an AR-15. The weapon manual is very similar. Muscle memory is easily transferred. The mage changes seem strange at first, but the transition is easy enough.
And 9mm stones from the longer barrel. Almost all 9mms are designed to be fired from a 5 inch barrel. This is usually indicated by the barrel velocity numbers on the box. Therefore, if there are more tubes to hold the burning powder, the velocity is usually higher.

The Palmetto State AR-9 is a good choice for anyone with a Glock 19 or 17. Or a stack of G17 magazines. Or a drum?
If you want a top-of-the-line AR-based Glock 9mm Parabellum with a magnetic feed, the Wilson Combat AR9 might be for you. They are not that common. I have one more unfired, but I've shot my fair share of Wilson Combat rifles. They work. From the 1911 to Beretta mods to rifles and shotguns, Wilson Combat has a great reputation.
Kel-Tec never achieved Wilson's defining brilliance, but they invented a gun that every company on this list could be proud to call their own. And the Sub2000 is a perfect example.
Sub2K folds. Although not the easiest to charge, it is compact. The design is also ridiculously sturdy. This is the perfect truck gun in my opinion. With a 33-round Glock magazine, it becomes an excellent tool.

My only gripe with the Sub2K is that the top rail needs to be empty in order for it to stack effectively. This gun screams red dot, but it's not always practical. You can place the laser on the bottom of the rail, like the Viridian X5L. Effectively stops the hand and can add light and laser.
The Ruger PC Carbine is another extremely popular choice. The gun has all the adjustability built in that the older Ruger Minis ignored.
Ruger includes the features that make the PCC so customizable. They are capable guns in their own right. They proved to be reliable. They are still affordable (if you can find them in stock). They are easy to maintain and keep working... the list goes on.
Like many of these rifles, the Ruger PCC has plenty of room for accessories. This pistol's magazine wells are interchangeable, so you can customize it even more. But really - GLOCK magazines.

The Banshee is also available in a variety of configurations. Each is roughly the same concept – a compact evolution of the AR platform. Many of them take the 9mm Glock mag.
The Banshee is a very popular platform in all its calibers. CMMG improved operations to make them functionally reliable. This is to be expected for a weapon of this price range.
The least expensive 9mm compatible with the CMG Glock is the CMMP Banshee 100, MKGS, 100 version of the pistol, with an MSRP of $1,249.95.
Mech Tech Systems Classic is a pistol to carbine conversion. The setup allows you to take an existing gun (many models, but we're focusing on Glocks here) and add a longer barrel and more functional work surfaces.
Magdapt™ 17 (9mm & .40s&w)
Mech Tech's capabilities are not firearms themselves, so they can be shipped directly to consumers.
The performance is similar to the CAA Roni. This is one of the most famous and best-selling versions of this concept. Again, the Ron is a cartridge case that you put on your existing gun. Glock versions have been making waves for years.
The Micro Ronis is really quite compact, but adds a huge amount of rail space. Although you may not have a longer barrel than some earlier models, you can still use this feature.
What next? If it were up to me, I'd make a Glock rifle. Rifle manufactured by Glock. That would blow the sale of all these weapons out of the proverbial water. Where's that Glock? We've been waiting for years.

Born from a European procurement that wanted a 9mm carbine with the same handling characteristics and ergonomics as the AR platform; the all-new SPC9 incorporates many of the features found in the B&T APC9, MP5 and AR platforms combined into one highly versatile platform. Lightweight and reliable, well-balanced and accurate, safe and modular, the SPC9 ticks all the boxes and is one of the lightest recoilless 9mm carbines out there thanks to B&T's innovative and efficient hydraulic recoil system. The standard polymer lower receiver allows you to change between different tank patterns. This model accepts Glock magazines.
